How to file

You can submit most business filings online using your Business.CT.gov account. This method provides:

  • Faster processing and fewer rejections
  • Option to save your progress and submit forms later on
  • Access to your past filing history and reminders of upcoming filings

To file online, select your form from the list below. Our filing system will guide you through the process. Please note, you must be logged in or create your Business.CT.gov account to file online. Expedited service is only available online.

Financing statement amendment (UCC-3) (file online) > $50
Initial financing statement (UCC1) - File this form to place a lien on property or assets belonging to someone you have made a loan to. This creates a public record and serves as evidence in any legal dispute over liability. (file online) > $50

Notice of aircraft lien (file online) > $50
Notice of vessel lien (file online) > $50
Release of aircraft lien (file online) > $50

Please note, if you don't have a Business.CT.gov account, you will be prompted to create one when you file online. Follow the prompts then, or learn how to create your account today.

Submit a paper filing instead

If your filing is not available online, or if you prefer to download and submit a paper filing, you can find all Paper Filings here. Please note, expedited service is not available for paper forms submitted by mail. As of January 2025, UCCs can submit paper filings online.
