Amendment Process

How does the amendment process work?

You are able to change most of your business information on the annual report, but if you need to amend your original formation document, it depends on your business entity type. For example, a domestic LLC can edit any part of the original formation document, including but not limited to, your business name, business addresses, the principal’s information, and so on.

However, a domestic corporation contains less information on its formation document, so only a small number of changes can be made on the Certificate of Amendment: the agent’s information, the name of the business, and the shares for a stock corporation.

Amendment forms can be found for each business, or filed directly online, on our business forms and fees page.
