How do I apply for a trademark in Connecticut?

A trademark is a symbol or expression used to distinguish products and services from other offerings.

Trademarks filed with CT Secretary of the State will only protect your mark within the state of Connecticut. You can file for a nationwide trademarks from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 

To file for your trademark, you have to be able to demonstrate three examples of your mark in active use. Examples of these electronic and print uses could include your website, emails, print ads, and vehicle decals.
