What’s the difference between registration, licenses, permits, and tax permits?

It can be confusing to create and run a business when the words license, permit, and registration are sometimes used interchangeably. This can help you understand how they apply to your business:

Business registration is the process of officially establishing your business with the appropriate government authorities. If you’re starting a small business, you need to register with the State of CT and your municipality.
