New Pistol Permit Applicants
DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR TEMPORARY PERMIT IN HAND. DO NOT SCHEDULE MORE THAN ONE APPOINTMENT PER PERSON. ANY APPLICANT WITH A PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT MUST CANCEL IT AFTER SCHEDULING A NEW ONE.
Note: DESPP HQ does not currently require appointments. Troops E and G require appointments.
Between October 1 – October 31, 2022
Troop E – Montville, and Troop G – Bridgeport, will be open for new pistol permit applicants by appointment only. Troop E and G will be open on Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00am - 4:00pm (Thursday varying hours). Appointments can be made online by the location specific link below:

Appointments can be made from Tuesday through Saturday at Troop E – Montville and Troop G – Bridgeport (varying hours). If you need to cancel an appointment, you must do so through Eventbrite and not by calling the Special Licensing and Firearms Unit.
DESPP HQ does not currently require appointments.
Upon entering the building, a temporal scan will be performed. Nobody will be admitted if they have a temperature above 100.4. A mask or cloth face covering must be worn. Only the person with an appointment will be admitted into the building.
If you are having problems with the Eventbrite website, you may call 860-685-8290. Please do not call regarding SOLD OUT dates or times. Due to high call volume, the preferred method of scheduling your appointment is through the website.
Please bring the following to your appointment:
1. Temporary permit;
2. Birth certificate or Passport;
3. Photo ID;
4. $70.00 check, money order (payable to "Treasurer, State of CT" ) or Exact cash.
No pistol permit renewals will be accepted. Pistol permit renewals will continued to be processed through the mail.
